So I decided it was about time I post again. I know it has been a while, but I'm not gonna apologize this time, cause I think I've done that on the last two or three posts and you probably get the picture by now. :-)

Although I have been absent from the blogosphere, I have been working in PhotoShop quite a bit. I am working right now on redesigning our church's website (http://lgbc.bc.ca) as well as quite a few other small graphics for different people. I have been designing quite a few sports-related graphics this past week which is a lot of fun.

This graphic is not for anyone in particular, I just thought the stick and puck were neat. So I took the picture into PhotoShop, jazzed it up a bit, added some text with a motion blur, and out came a pretty neat little banner.

I love the contrast in this one...

And this one...well, you gotta love Roberto Luongo no matter what you do with him, but I love this graphic. Some of the best graphics out there are some of the simplest too, and I love the simplicity, contrast, and colours of this graphic.

So...shying away from the sports theme a bit, this is a header I made for a friend of mine's blog. Not really a lot to say about it. I can't say it is one of my best, but he seems to really like it and I think it will serve it's purpose well.

Sorry it has been so long since I posted, I have had a pretty busy summer, and it looks like I am about to start a busy year of school.

I guess, now that it's been a couple of months since I said I would, I will show you all my new portfolio/business (kind of) site, which is still not completely done and doesn't view all that well in IE. (I hate IE) It should look fine if you view it in FireFox or Opera. Angus Templates Portfolio

On another note, I am designing a set of twelve desktop wallpapers - one for each month - for our church to use this coming year and my three blog readers are lucky enough to get a sneak preview. :-)

This is, obviously, a 2007 version, but I can't go around giving out 2008 wallpapers! Anyway, the picture will be the same, just different dates on the calendar. I will post all twelve in January when they are 'released to the public'.

Sorry I never posted the other day, but here I am now. I just wanted to let you guys know that I am VERY soon going to be starting on a portfolio site for myself. I am very excited about it, mainly because the design is just coming together so perfectly in my mind. Can't wait till I get to show you!

Well, I guess it's time to get back into the swing of doing a graphic a day. I missed yesterday, so I will post at least 2 today, and I also have some exciting news (for me anyway) to share!

This one isn't really a graphic I guess, it's a picture I took this last Sunday at Church. I'm no photographer, but I thought it looked pretty neat.

Now for the news! (I won't make you wait 2 weeks like Kate Marie) I have got a new web design request, not a blog, but a full template. Here is what I have so far, but I just started. There are two good things about this job...1) The guys wants a very simple site, no flashy buttons or graphics, which makes my job easier. (I hope what I have so far is simple enough.) 2) He is willing to pay up to $200, although I don't plan to charge that much, it's exciting that I'm even being offered that much. The bad thing is that I don't know how much to charge! LOL. Although I have had the ability to for a while, this will be my first full, custom template to sell. Katie Marie, how much do you usually charge?

Wow, it's been a busy few days! We have been trying to squeeze in as much as we can while my Grandparents are here. Friday we took a ride on one of the many ferries up here, and then went from there down to Castle Fun Park and played putt-putt and some arcade games. Then on Saturday we just kind of napped during the morning, and then played quite a few different board games that afternoon and evening. Yesterday was obviously Church in the morning, and then we had the evening service at our house. We had some hotdogs and hamburgers, had a 30 minute service, and then more board games! Then one of the guys from our church stayed the night and we played some X-Box and watched Ice Age 2. Today...well, it's yet to be seen what we will do. My Grandparents will be leaving at about 2:30, so maybe we can squeeze in one more game or something. I just found out that I do not get today off school like I thought I did - today is Victoria day - apparently we took our day off on Friday, and someone forgot to tell me. :-\ Oh well, maybe I shouldn't have played x-box until 2:00AM in that case? LOL

Now for the graphic of the day, actually this one will have to cover a few days, hehe.

It's already getting late here, so I am not going to make a long post, just wanted to post a graphic for the day. I may miss this for a day or two this week with my grandparents being in town.

This is one of my personal favourites that I've made, I love the way it turned out.

To answer Katie Marie's question about the green & white template, I will first give the background on it, and then the link. The template is actually not in use by anyone right now. I initially made it for a friend's company, as an alternative solution for them, but they ended up going another route so I still own it. The templates colours and basic layout are not original to me, although I did make it. I made it in PhotoShop using a tutorial I found online as the basis for the layout and colours, then I sliced it and coded it. I have uploaded it here so you can look at the working product, and the code. The only page done is the home page and all links lead back to it, because I didn't feel like creating the entire site when it wasn't going to be used. I am very pleased with how clean this code is, and also with the CSS. Now when you view the source code in your browser it is going to look like a long document of code, but the actual file looks like this.

Which makes it very easy to edit any specific part of the code without digging through the entire index file. The style sheet also makes it very easy to change things. I was also able to incorporate some of the PHP I am learning as you can see in the image above. Even though it is very simple, I am pleased that the studying is paying off some. =)

We had a good Sunday yesterday, had gifts for all of the Mothers, and then took my Mom out to eat after the morning service. We actually had more Mothers than usual and almost ran out of gifts - we ended up having just the right amount though. We went to White Spot after, which I am not sure if they have in the US or not (don't think so), but if you ever come to Canada you should try it. Last night we had an average Sunday night crowd, and a good service. Today we will be putting the bunk beds back up in my room in preparation for my Grandparents arrival tomorrow. They are missionaries in Jamaica and are back in the States on furlough right now, so they are coming up to visit for the week. It's going to be a fun week, I am sure. =)

Now to the graphics...I didn't post one yesterday, so I guess I will post two of them today, which I seem to end up doing somehow anyway.

I am sad to say that I am not the genuis who came up with and created this avatar, and I am not sure who is, but what a cool guy he must be!

This is an image I made for the camp we have up here every summer, it wasn't actually to be used, I just made it for fun. We usually divide the camp into two teams during the week, and this past year it was Coke and Pepsi.

Here it is, as promised, a post that will contain no graphics. So I downloaded this program called blender today that I found on Matthew's blog who I am pretty sure is Katie Marie's brother (correct me if I am wrong there). So far I have succeeded in figuring out how to change views, change the colour of a shape, and create new shapes. Now somehow Matthew made a moose in it, which as of right now really beats me, but I downloaded his moose and played around with it - it's now a gold moose with waves. I looked at some tutorials and started making a die, but kept messing it up, so I stopped for now, but I will probably pick it back up where I left off once I get done making this post. I have always wanted to try making 3D images, so finding a free program to do it is cool and I plan to master it over time. We also went out on visitation today, but we only met 2 people. :-\ That pretty much wraps up my afternoon...visitation, a once-red-but-now-gold-with-waves-moose, and half a die. Exciting, eh?

I found a website template today that I worked on a month or two ago just for fun, so I decided I will share it. I will probably post another small graphic too.

This is one of my favourite, and I think my best, that I have done with a vehicle. I usually have trouble working vehicles into my graphics, so I was pleased when this one came out good.

And then just one more, I made this small button yesterday. It's mainly to go on templates that I have made, but if you would like to link to me with it you are more than welcome. (All 3 of my readers) =)

Also, some exciting news...I may post my first time tonight without any graphics in the post...that's right, just stuff about the day! =D

So I've decided I am going to try posting at least one graphic or design a day along with a bit about whatever else I feel like talking about. I'm not too good at journaling, or writing at all for that matter, so don't expect too many posts that actually contain all that much worthwhile to read. =) I may also post some of others people's work, but I will be sure to tell you when I do.

This is a picture I found online the other day and did some touching up, it took only about 2 minutes, but it made the colours so much more vibrant!

I started looking through all the graphics I've done, and there were even more than I thought. So I decided just to pick some that are my favourites, and that still turned out to be a lot, but I am going to post them anyway. Many of these are small graphics that I have made for people to put in their signatures on different forums. I do some online gaming, so I am registered on quite a few different forums where signatures are always being requested. There are no blog designs or headers in all of these, but there is one desktop background. So, in no particular order, here they are.

Well, I think I am going to start blogging. Not necessarily for selling templates, but just for the fun of it. I will probably post some of the graphics I make in PhotoShop, and any new templates I make. So, a little bit about myself for starters...I am an almost-16-year-old Missionary/Pastor's son living in Canada. I do a lot of graphic and web design work, which I plan to share some of with you over time. I have taken courses and can work with DreamWeaver, but I tend to code my websites by hand with mostly HTML and CSS which I am fluent in, and some PHP which I am still far from fluent in. If you are intersted in having any website or graphic work done by me you can leave a comment on any of my posts or email me at angushutchsky@gmail.com. I guess that's all for now, I may do my first "real" post later this afternoon.
